maputo special reserve

"Maputo Special Reserve is one of the most beautiful and, at the same time, poorly known conservation areas in southern Africa. The large variety of habitats, ranging from mangrove forest, tidal wetlands, large treeless grass plains to dense sand forest, support an impressive diversity of bird species." It has 800 000 ha in area and lies in the southern corner of Mozambique. Really worth the visit... There I fell like the the bird in the photo... FREE!!!

DIFFERENT PLACES OF THIS AMAZING PART OF EARTH...

HIPPOPOTAMUS

"The hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius), Hippos meaning "horse" and potamos meaning "river" is a large, mostly plant eating African mammal, one of only two extant in the family Hippopotamidae (the other being the Pygmy Hippopotamus)."
Amazing big animals...

RHINOCEROS

"The Rhinoceros or Rhino is any of five surviving species of odd-toed ungulates in the family Rhinocerotidae. Two species are native to Africa and three to southern Asia. Four of the five species are either endangered or critically endangered."
Those in the picture are called the White Rhino.
